Based on the past 48 hours, today's Red Sox news came with little surprise.
Dustin Pedroia is officially back on the disabled list just four days after coming off it. His left knee is still sore -- the injury is labeled as inflammation -- and the DL move is retroactive to Wednesday.
Left-handed reliever Robby Scott has been recalled to take Pedroia's roster spot.
Pedroia had offseason knee surgery, aggravated the problem when Manny Machaco slid into him in April, and had it flare up again after the all-star break when the Red Sox played a series of lengthy games in a row.
