Reinforcements are on the way for the Red Sox.
Speaking ahead of Boston’s game against the Rockies on Wednesday, Alex Cora confirmed that Alex Bregman will likely rejoin the Red Sox roster before the All-Star Break (July 14-17).
“Yeah, he’s hitting right now. Feeling good,” Cora said of Bregman. “There’s a good chance he’ll be with us this weekend.”
Bregman has been sidelined since May 23 after suffering a severe quad strain during a doubleheader set at Fenway Park. The 31-year-old third baseman has been hindered by quad injuries in the past, with a similar ailment in 2021 forcing him to miss 10 weeks of action with the Astros.
