What hasn’t Pedey accomplished in Boston? He’s got two championships, a Rookie of the Year Award, an MVP, four Gold Gloves, a Silver Slugger Award… he was a four-time All-Star, a career .299 hitter and one of the scrappiest players in the Majors.
The sad part is his retirement wasn’t entirely made on his terms. After more than a decade of playing harder than – dare I say – anyone else, his knees began giving out.
