For many decades, all or the majority of the games the Red Sox and Cardinals played against each other were in the World Series. Having met there four times in 1946, 1967, 2004, and 2013, this is a match up that should be packed with energy and electricity.
But instead, it’s marred by one unescapable fact: Both the Red Sox and the Cardinals have never both been this unremarkable at the same time.
