Brock Holt begins rehab assignment as 'elated' Chase d'Arnaud arrives

It’s been a week since Brock Holt last played in a game, and he has just four at-bats in the past two weeks.

The Red Sox sent Holt to Triple-A for a rehab assignment that’s going to last a while. He’ll be Pawtucket’s designated hitter tonight and tomorrow, and he’ll play the field for at least three more days before the Red Sox consider bringing him back from a case of vertigo.

“He’ll start initially in the outfield for five innings (on Sunday, and then filter in through the infield in the coming days after that,” manager John Farrell said.
