The Red Sox have now been swept for the second time this season and the second time this month, losing in extra innings on the road again because they’re completely incapable of winning tied games on the road. They’ve now lost 5 in a row, fallen to 4 games below .500, and have, according to FanGraphs at the time of writing this, a 22% chance to make the postseason. The offense may have scored more runs today and hit homers, but the RISP failures flared up again and the bullpen still couldn’t keep any Sox lead. It’s quite a tough scene right now.
