Programming note, especially for those among us who want one more look back at the 2018 Red Sox’ World Series championship run:
The MLB Network will premiere a documentary on Red Sox manager Alex Cora on Tuesday at 9 p.m., and it’s terrific and insightful, even if you’re already familiar with his story.
Titled “Alex Cora: The Making of a Champion,’’ it is part of the MLB Network Presents series. It includes an extensive interview conducted by Tom Verducci with Cora at Fenway Park.
The documentary covers such topics as Cora’s childhood in Caguas, Puerto Rico, his generosity and devotion to his native country, how serving as a coach in the Astros organization affected his managing philosophy, and the significance of being the first Puerto Rican-born manager to win the World Series.
