The Boston Red Sox have acquired ace Chris Sale from the Chicago White Sox, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports:

Chicago was in negotiations with the Washington Nationals on Monday about a deal that would've sent Sale to D.C., but the Red Sox were able to swoop in and start negotiations earlier today.
The Atlanta Braves were also linked to Sale, but didn't want to part with the top prospects Chicago was demanding.
Sale posted a 3.34 ERA while going 17-10 for the White Sox last season
