The Bobby Valentine Saga Continues

It's been 20 days since the Red Sox fired now former manager Bobby Valentine.

The Red Sox have even hired a new manager in John Farrell, but yet Valentine is still running his mouth.

On Tuesday night, Bobby V told Bob Costas of NBC Sports that he believes long time Red Sox DH David Ortiz could have played at the end of last season, when he sat out all but one game after July 16th with a strained Achilles tendon.

Valentine told Costas, "David Ortiz came back after spending about six weeks on the disabled list and we thought it was only going to be a week."

"He got two hits the first two times up, drove in a couple runs; we were off to the races. Then he realized that (the team's trade with the Dodgers on Aug. 25) meant that we're not going to run this race and we're not even going to finish the race properly and he decided not to play anymore. I think at that time it was all downhill from there", Valentine said of Ortiz's August 24th appearance in a game.

Perhaps Ortiz did quit, Maybe Valentine is right. But why would you go out and say that in a public interview? We all know that this is typical Bobby V, he's got a very...how do I put this..."different" personality, but wait until you write your book about the massive clusterf*ck that was the 2012 Red Sox season.

Because we all know it's only a matter of time until he comes out with one.

The sad part about this is that Ortiz was one of the very, very few veteran players who supported Bobby V last season. I just can't wrap my head around why he would call out one of the few guys that supported him last year when he's not even manager. It just makes no sense.
