3 Boston Red Sox Players Who Have Been A Disappointment So Far In 2015

You can't win them all every single month of every single baseball season, and these next three guys are living proof of that. Here's our list of Boston Red Sox Players Who Have Been A Disappointment So Far In 2015.

OF/1B Allen Craig

Craig completely lost his stroke at the plate and his confidence before being sent down to Triple-A Pawtucket. While he's benefiting from the chance to play every day in the minors, his atrocious .135/.237/.192 slash line in 24 MLB games this year means he still has plenty to prove before he's given another shot in a significant role in Boston.

OF/1B Daniel Nava

There's been rumors aplenty that the Red Sox are considering designating Nava for assignment, as the 32-year-old is hitting just .159 with a .440 OPS in 73 plate appearances so far in 2015. They don't have to make the decision yet with Nava headed to the 15-day disabled list, but another demotion could mean the end of his stay in Beantown seeing that he's out of minor league options.

P Rick Porcello

Porcello's show flashes of the stuff that the Red Sox value at $20 million-plus a year, but he's still the highest profile disappointment in a starting rotation full of them in 2015. Porcello is pitching to a troublesome 5.37 ERA and 1.35 WHIP in 10 starts so far. While he's eating up innings better than any other Red Sox starter (just over six per game), he's hasn't come close to justifying his massive contract extension just yet.
