The Replay: Holy Cross

The surreality hung over Alumni Stadium like a sticky, humid air mass. Under two minutes remained in the fourth quarter of Saturday's matchup between Boston College and Holy Cross, but the grueling, oppressive three-plus quarters between the two ancient rivals boiled down into one last drive. The high-powered Eagles piled 400 yards of total offense on the pulverized Crusader defense, but one last midfield stop handed Holy Cross and quarterback Matthew Sluka one more opportunity with one timeout remaining.

Punter Sam Candotti had done his part perfectly, but a coffin corner fair catch by Jalen Coker ended with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty against reserve defensive end Quintayvious Hutchins.
