On April 15, 2013, I had just walked into my apartment in Waltham, Massachusetts after playing my first round of golf of the season. I was three months removed from finally moving out of my parents house, and I intentionally moved out to the Metrowest region to specifically live across Waltham from my then-girlfriend. It was one of those first major steps that I made in life - and yes, the jokes rained on me about the fact that I didn't move out until I was 27 - but it was a deliberate attempt to bridge into an engagement, a marriage, and, hopefully, a family that could live in the same region where I grew up.
