CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Boston College lacrosse senior defender Sydney Scales was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, as the conference announced weekly awards.
It's the first weekly award for Scales this season and the fifth of the season for BC.
Scales anchored the BC defense to an 11-10 triumph in overtime over then-No. 2 Syracuse last week. The Walpole, Mass. native recorded a season-high five ground balls and four caused turnovers in the victory.
She helped BC hold Syracuse to its lowest goal total in ACC play and the second-fewest goals in a game this season.
