Last weekend, Boston College baseball (22-27, 8-19) was swept by Louisville, marking their sixth loss in a row. This weekend, Birdball put an end to their losing streak, but not before it reached eight games. The Maryland Terrapins (34-19) came to town and swept Saturday’s doubleheader before BC won the series finale on Sunday.
John West took the hill for the Eagles and struggled mightily in the opening frame of the series: Maryland scored six runs on three hits, two hit-by-pitches, two walks, and one error. West made it through 2.1 innings and gave up a total of seven runs, only two of which were earned and the Terrapins held a 7-0 lead after just three innings.
