HARTFORD, Conn. – Aapeli Räsänen scored his first career hat trick to lead No. 19 Boston College past UConn 5-1 on Saturday afternoon at the XL Center as the Eagles swept a home-and-home series, outscoring the Huskies 11-1 in the process.
The Eagles won their third straight and moved back above .500 at 5-4-0 (3-2-0 HEA), while the Huskies fell to 2-5-1 (1-3-0 HEA).
Räsänen added an assist for a career-high four points to give him eight for the year, one more than his entire total from last season. Ben Finkelstein (1-1-2), Mike Hardman (1-1-2) and Alex Newhook (0-2-2) also collected multi-point performances.
