CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College baseball pitcher Mason Pelio and women's track and field long distance runner Emeline Delanis have been named the Nissan Eagles of the Week for their Performances this past weekend.
Pelio, a freshman, totaled seven innings on the mound and allowed just one run on five hits and one walk with six strikeouts in a 13-2 win over Eastern Kentucky on Saturday. Pelio cruised through the first six innings on 86 pitches in a 1-1 game before the offense erupted for an eight-run seventh. The San Diego, Calif. native returned to the mound despite a 28-minute top half of the inning and sat EKU down in order, including striking out the last two batters he faced.
