Orpik Leads Caps to Title; BC Tied for Record 19 Names on Cup

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Former Boston College Eagle and NCAA Champion (2001) Brooks Orpik helped his current franchise, the Washington Capitals, lift their first Stanley Cup trophy in franchise history after upending the upstart Las Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday, June 7. The Capitals ousted the Golden Knights, taking them five games to do so in the best-of-seven Stanley Cup Finals.

With the victory, Boston College has had an Eagle etch their name onto the Stanley Cup on 19 different occasions. That figure pulls BC into a tie with Wisconsin for the most representatives of a program in college hockey history.
