GLENDALE, Ariz. – Despite heavily out-chancing and out-shooting 13th-ranked Arizona State, Boston College fell to the Sun Devils 2-0 on Saturday night at Gila River Arena to close its winter break road trip.
Joey Daccord made 32 saves in the ASU net for his sixth shutout of the season. Brett Gruber opened the scoring midway through the second period, while Jordan Sandhu added an insurance goal on the power play at 7:27 of the third.
The Eagles (6-9-2, 6-1-2 HEA) out-shot the Sun Devils 14-3 in the opening frame, including the last 11 shots in the period.
