The Philadelphia Flyers traded for former Boston College star Kevin Hayes last night during Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals, sending a fifth round pick in the upcoming draft to the Winnipeg Jets in the process. Hayes will be an unrestricted free agent on July 1, but in making this trade, the Flyers have acquired exclusive negotiating rights with the 27-year-old, giving them the chance to lock him up before his free agency kicks in.
Hayes is coming off a career best year that saw him split time between the New York Rangers and the Winnipeg Jets.
