SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The No. 8 Boston College field hockey team recorded four unanswered goals to secure a 4-3 comeback win over California on Saturday at JS Coyne Stadium at Syracuse University. Senior captain Frederique Haverhals led the offensive effort, recording a hat trick with two goals in the second half and the third in overtime for the game-winner.
Junior Brigid Wood started the offensive momentum early, recording the first shot of the contest just 35 seconds after the starting whistle.
Cal pushed its way to the scoreboard first after a Melina Moore goal in the 27th minute.
