CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The Boston College men's golf team opens its 2023 fall slate on Sunday, Sept. 3 at the inaugural Red Bandanna Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be held at Turning Stone's Kaluyhat Course in Verona, N.Y.
In its first year, the men's collegiate golf tournament was named the Red Bandanna Invitational in honor of Welles Crowther '99 - "The Man in the Red Bandanna." Crowther, who died in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, was an equities trader with Sandler O'Neill on the 104th floor of the South Tower of the World Trade Center.
