It was a wacky first quarter at Alumni Stadium, but the Eagles overcame some early mistakes to take a 14-2 advantage into our first break.
Following a fantastic Central Michigan punt that was downed at the BC 1-yard line, the Chippewas tackled Jon Hilliman in the end zone for a CMU safety, snagging a 2-0 lead early.
But a pair of Michael Walker punt returns would set the Eagles up for touchdowns on their next two possessions. First, the sea parted for Walker, who ran 61 yards down to the CMU 6 yard line, where Jilliman would run it in on the next play.
