TAMPA, FLA– Boston College went up against No. 4 ranked Florida on Saturday afternoon. The Gators won 9-0 after five innings to improve their record to 2-0 while BC moves to 3-1.
Florida came out of the gates red hot, scoring five first inning runs, Graduate Transfer pitcher Sofia Earle came in for Susannah Anderson and did a good job of helping the Eagles get out of the inning with three straight strikeouts. Earle pitched two innings and recorded three strikeouts and allowed just two hits.
For the Gators, Elizabeth Hightower got the start and the win with seven strikeouts in five innings pitched and Avery Goelz recorded two hits and two RBI in three ABs.
