ATHENS, Ga. - The Boston College softball team split a pair of games to open the Bulldog Classic, at Jack Turner Stadium, in Athens, Georgia on Friday, Feb. 28. The Eagles downed Western Carolina, 3-1, before falling to No. 18 Georgia, 6-2.
Two freshmen led the way for BC, as Djhane Valido and AJ Alatorre both hit their first-career home runs in the Eagles' win.
Western Carolina opened the scoring in the bottom of the fifth, when they homered to center field. It was the first home run the Eagles' had given up all season.
