Eagles Settle for Third Place at ICSA Women’s Nationals

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Competing with a team of four freshmen, Boston College sailing narrowly missed winning its 22nd national title in program history, settling for third place at the ICSA Women's National Championship hosted by Navy.

Following several delays due to low wind conditions on Thursday, the Eagles entered the final race of the two-day regatta with a two-point lead. College of Charleston (201 points) and Tulane (202) came back to post top-5 finishes in the last race to edge out the Eagles (205) for first and second, respectively.

The team of twin sisters Colleen O'Brien and Michaela O'Brien won the A Division by capturing four different races, all coming in the opening eight races of the competition on Wednesday in windier conditions.
