CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Boston College field hockey fell to Syracuse, 1-0, in a shootout following a scoreless overtime battle in the ACC Championship game on Friday afternoon at Karen Shelton Stadium.
The Eagles and Orange played 75 minutes without a goal, forcing a shootout to decide the conference champion. The matchup marked the first championship game in ACC Tournament history to be decided by a shootout.
Boston College and Syracuse traded opportunities throughout regulation, with neither side able to find the back of the cage.
