Despite this afternoon’s loss to No. 1 Virginia, the Eagles managed to end the Cavalier’s seven game shutout streak with a goal from Captain Gaby Carreiro. UVA scored twice in the first half, first off a loose ball in the Eagles’ box by UVA’s Meghan McCool in the fourteenth minute. The second goal came in the last few minutes of the half from Ashlynn Serepca.
UVA quickly added two more goals early in the second half, with Serepca scoring again and McCool almost got a second goal. Allie Augur got there for the initial stop but Cavalier Sydney Zandi was able to convert the rebound to a goal from the six.
