TAMPA, Fla.-- Boston College defeated UIC with a 4-3 victory in extra-innings at the USF Softball Complex, Thursday afternoon. Left fielder led the way for the Eagles, dominating in the box with four hits and two runs on 4 at-bats, with a batting average of .545.
In the top of the fourth the Eagles got on the board early. With Shields on third, a fielder's choice got her through home plate. The Eagles continued to score in the inning securing three runs. With Hannah Slike and Nicole Giery on base, Shields doubled to bring Slike and Giery home.
