The Boston College women’s lacrosse team is headed to the Final Four after defeating Stony Brook 12-11 in a double overtime thriller. The Eagles dominated in shots (20-29), draw controls (20-6) and ground balls (15-13), but Stony Brook’s goalie didn’t make things easy for BC.
BC jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in today’s game, but ended the first period down to Stony Brook by a score of 7-6. The teams traded goals for much of the second half before a 4 goal run by Stony Brook put the Seawolves up 11-8. BC closed regulation with a trio of unanswered goals to send the game into overtime.
