Boston College Women’s Basketball Opens Season With Dominant Win Over URI

The Boston College women’s basketball team is off to a 1-0 start under new head coach, Joanna Bernabei-McNamee, after defeating URI by a score of 88-64 tonight. This is the first time BC has scored 80+ points since February of 2017. The Eagles, who averaged 17.4 turnovers a game last season, had only 15 tonight. Additionally, BC had 55 rebounds after averaging 33.1 last year.

The Eagles outscored URI in the first 3 quarters, and URI was only able to get back into the game to a degree in the fourth quarter, when the Eagles started giving more playing time to their bench.
