Boston College Women’s Basketball Lands Top 100 Recruit

Earlier this week, Akunna Konkwo announced her commitment to Boston College to play basketball. Konkwo, a 6’3 center, is a top 100 player and ESPN ranks her as the #12 center in the class of 2019.

Konkwo’s top 10 included school’s like Texas, Louisville, and Kentucky, so her commitment is an early sign that new head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee is already changing the perception of Boston College women’s basketball.

Konkwo, who is entering her senior year at Bishop Ireton, has been the team’s star player since she joined. As a sophomore she averaged over 20 points a game and registered a double-double in nearly every match.
