In the non-conference matchup with UMass, Susannah Anderson got the start, but was knocked around early, allowing three runs in four innings, before CC Cook came in and gave up another four runs in two innings of work. Offensively, Ellie Mataya and Gianna Boccagno each had two hits and knocked in a run, but it wasn’t enough, as the Eagles fell, 8-3.

In the first game against NC State, Camryn Dolby got the ball, and was lights out, striking out seven Wolfpack batters, and giving up no runs over 3.1 innings of work, before handing the ball to Anderson, who went the final 3.
