NEWTON, Mass. – The Boston College women's soccer team fell to the No. 22 Clemson Tigers on Thursday night, 2-1, at the Newton Campus Fields.
After a scoreless first half, Olivia Vaughn put the Eagles up by one seven minutes into the second stanza with her seventh goal of the season.
The Tigers, though, equalized in the 59th minute and then Hal Hershfelt put home the eventual game-winning goal in the 72nd. The Eagles kept pushing for an equalizer, but Sam Smith's shot with 15 seconds remaining was just wide of the right post.
