This morning, Boston College announced that BC men’s ice hockey coach Jerry York has signed a contract extension that will keep him at BC through the 2021-22 season.
Coach York (the real G.O.A.T.) is the winningest coach in college hockey, with 1,063 career victories as a head coach. He is just 4 games shy of his 600th win at BC. He has led BC to 4 NCAA Championships (2001, 2008, 2010, 2012), and has 21 alumni playing in the NHL.
Despite the love that we all have for Coach York, there are some concerns about what this extension means for the men’s hockey program.
