After a rather inconsistent season, Boston College baseball’s (28-29, 13-20) year has come to a close after losing to North Carolina (40-12, 18-11) in the ACC Baseball Championship quarterfinals, 7-2.
Starter A.J. Colarusso pitched one of his best games of the season, tossing six innings of one-run ball and striking out nine Tarheel batters. The Eagles took a 2-0 lead in the third on RBIs by Patrick Roche and Jack Toomey. Thanks to Colarusso’s performance, BC was well on its way to another upset, until the bottom of the seventh.
In the seventh, Colarusso walked a batter before giving way to the bullpen.
