Black Bears Edge Eagles 2-1 to Close Series

ORONO, Maine – Victor Ostman made 31 saves and Maine held off a third period surge to edge Boston College on Saturday night by a 2-1 final at Alfond Arena to sweep a Hockey East weekend series.

The Eagles dropped to 12-14-6 overall and 7-10-5 in Hockey East with one weekend remaining in the regular season. The Black Bears improved to 15-13-5 (9-9-4 HEA) after the narrow victory.

BC was forced shorthanded four times in the first period and killed off the first three, including a brief two-man advantage for Maine. The Black Bears capitalized on their fourth chance as Nolan Renwick tipped a left wing shot-pass through the five-hole of , who was otherwise stellar in the frame with 14 saves.
