On Wednesday afternoon, Boston College hosted the University of Massachusetts for a preseason men’s soccer friendly, their first of the year. After UMass opened the scoring early in the first half, BC pushed for an equalizer for the remainder of the opening frame, but were unable to push through for a goal, going into halftime with a 1-0 deficit.
Senior Trevor Davock was able to score the first goal of the season for the Eagles on a run early in the second half. He attempted to play the ball across the face of the goal, but it deflected off the keeper into the back of the net for an equalizer.
