Boston College Field Hockey’s stunning season continued on Friday evening in Newton with a huge win in the ACC tournament semifinals over the Virginia Cavaliers. The Eagles took a thrilling 1-0 win in overtime on their home field to advance to the ACC Championship Game against the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Boston College earned the #2 seed in the ACC tournament and sat #9 in the NFHCA Coaches Poll coming into the matchup against Virginia. The Cavaliers held the #3 seed in the tournament, but were #4 in the national poll. It all meant that it would be a close matchup on Newton Campus, and the game sure did not disappoint.
