CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College women's hockey player Abby Newhook has been named a finalist for the 2022 Women's National Rookie of the Year Award, as announced on Tuesday by the Women's Hockey Commissioners Association.
Last week, Newhook was named the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Year. The St. John's, Newfoundland native led all Hockey East first-year players in overall points (32), goals (18) and assists (15) as well as in conference points (25), goals (13) and assists (12) during the 2021-22 season. Her overall 0.94 points per game average led all Hockey East rookies and tied for second nationally, while she averaged 0.
