The time of year clearly made a difference for Jared Sullinger, even if the span between his last preseason outing and the Celtics’ first regular-season game was only five days.
Sullinger went from six points on 3-for-9 shooting against Philadelphia last Friday in Manchester, N.H., to 12 points on 6-for-8 shooting last night in the Celtics’ 112-95 win over the Sixers.
Sullinger was in such a zone, he didn’t even remember stealing the ball and driving it coast to coast for a transition bucket.
“That was just a lucky thing, the ball kind of ended up in my hands and I couldn’t pass it to a guard, so I had to bring it up,” he said.
