Paul Pierce trolled the Knicks: After the Celtics lost to the Knicks in the Eastern Conference semifinals, Boston legend Paul Pierce maintained that the Pacers would go on to beat New York in following round.
Pierce was at least partly validated after the Pacers pulled off a stunning comeback to defeat the Knicks in New York in overtime on Wednesday in Game 1. Indiana’s win included a memorable sequence at the end of regulation in which Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton hit the game-tying shot on a buzzer-beater, and proceeded to pay homage to Reggie Miller by imitating his “choke” taunt (which Miller did during a Knicks-Pacers series in the 1994).
