Italian forward Luigi Datome, who spent last season playing for Turkish team Fenerbahce Ulker, recently told Italy’s Tuttosport that, despite interest from NBA teams, he will remain in Turkey for the 2016-17 season.
The 28-year-old Datome last played in the NBA in 2015 for the Boston Celtics, for whom he averaged 10.7 minutes and 5.2 points per game while shooting 47 percent from beyond the arc. Gigi joined Fenerbahce Ulker last summer and apparently will remain with the team for at least another season as he chases a Euroleague title.
“I had two interesting offers from the NBA during the summer but for one more year I will remain with Fenerbahce,” Datome told Tuttosport, via Sportando.
