Reaction to the Celtics drafting Hugo Gonzalez: With the 28th pick in the first round of Wednesday’s night’s NBA Draft, the Celtics selected forward Hugo Gonzalez.
The 19-year-old Spaniard previously played for Real Madrid, and brings athleticism, defensive intensity, and a high motor to a potential bench role in Boston. And while Gonzalez could be a player the Celtics “stash” in Europe, ESPN NBA draft analyst Jonathan Givony reported that Boston intends on “bringing Gonzalez over this season.”
In his full analysis of the pick, Givony told ESPN viewers during the draft that he thinks highly of Gonzalez’s future.
