Another number is headed to the rafters at TD Garden!

During the first quarter of Thursday night’s game with the Los Angeles Clippers, the Boston Celtics made a surprise announcement: Kevin Garnett’s No. 5 jersey will be retired next season.

Kevin Garnett's statement on the Celtics retiring his #5 jersey next season:

“I’m honored and thankful to have my number retired with the Celtics. I will always have immense respect and appreciation for ownership, Danny Ainge, Doc Rivers, my past teammates and Celtic Nation!”— Keith Smith (@KeithSmithNBA) February 14, 2020

“From the moment he arrived in the summer of 2007, Kevin changed everything for us,” said Celtics co-owner Wyc Grousbeck in Boston’s official statement.
