Marcus Smart agrees to Wizards buyout, will sign with longtime Celtics rival

Former Celtics guard Marcus Smart has agreed to a buyout with the Washington Wizards and will sign a two-year, $11 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Saturday afternoon.

Smart, who spent the first 9 years of his NBA career with the Boston Celtics, was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in 2023, where he spent a season and a half.
