Let me tell you, this column would have read a lot differently had I pecked it out on Wednesday afternoon, as was the original game plan, before deciding to wait until after the Celtics’ matchup with the Cavaliers that evening.
The Celtics entered the game against what I believe to be the best team in the Eastern Conference with a 1-3 record, having lost their first three games before routing the Zion Williamson-less Pelicans on Monday night.
Despite finally picking up that first win, the outlook for the Cavaliers game and the season as a whole appeared grim in a way we haven’t experienced here since Brad Stevens’s first season, post-New Big Three era.
