Knicks quietly added former Celtics lottery pick without anyone realizing

Former Boston Celtics wing Romeo Langford was traded to the New York Knicks’ G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks, earlier this summer (July 8). Well, his returning player rights were, at least. Langford hasn’t actually played in a G League game since the 2023-24 season, when he appeared in 30 games for the Salt Lake City Stars.

Westchester traded the returning rights to Higen Hasegawa, who was the No. 10 pick in the 2025 International G League Draft, in exchange for Langford. There’s no guarantee that Langford ever suits up for Westchester, but if he did decide to attempt a return to NBA basketball (he played three games for BCM Gravelines in France this past year), it would be with the Knicks.
