Big Perk is scrambling this year, trying to atone for past sins and repair his fractured relationship with the Celtics. He has gotten too big for his own britches in recent years, trying to break into the hot take game and tearing down his old team in the process with one misguided personal jab after another.
So, Perkins can pander to Celtics fans as much as he wants; it won’t matter. He burnt that bridge, and he can’t come crawling back now. He can try to claim Boston all he wants, but Boston doesn’t claim him, and no amount of indulging us will change that.
