Jrue Holiday ruled out for new year’s matchup against Spurs

Jrue Holiday will not play tonight against the San Antonio Spurs due to a right elbow sprain.

Holiday is the only Celtic on the injury report, and Al Horford is expected to join the starting lineup as a result. Derrick White will assume all lead guard duties, and Payton Pritchard should see an increase in minutes as well.

Horford and Kristaps Porzingis are active again after missing Boston’s last game against Toronto.

Holiday has been playing great in his last few games, averaging 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists per game with a steal and half a block.
