Joe Mazzulla provided a quick update on Jaylen Brown’s injury

A Jaylen Brown injury update: During the first quarter of the Celtics’ preseason win over the Raptors on Wednesday, Jaylen Brown left the game after appearing to pick up a left hamstring injury.

The 28-year-old’s role will be even more central in the upcoming season — set to begin at home on Oct. 22 against the 76ers — with the continued absence of Jayson Tatum (who is recovering from his ruptured Achilles tendon). As a result, Celtics fans may have been nervous seeing Brown depart the preseason game.

After Boston secured a 110-108 win, head coach Joe Mazzulla (fresh off of his annihilation of local media in a scrimmage) informed reporters that he wasn’t worried about Brown’s status.
